The Foods Our DOCTORS Love Most

We all grew up enjoying different foods and traditions during the holidays. We asked Dr. Harper and Dr. George to tell us about their favorite Thanksgiving food:

“What is your favorite holiday food?”
Dr. Harper-My mom’s Sweet Potato Casserole with crunchy pecan and brown sugar topping!!

Dr. George-My mom’s Broccoli Rice Casserole!!

“What makes it so special?”

Dr. Harper-It can be served as an appetizer, side or dessert!!

Dr. George-It takes me back to my childhood of holidays with family…plus there’s a lot of cheese and cheese makes everything GREAT!

Dr. George would like to share his mom’s recipe for you to try this holiday season!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/3 cup chopped celery

3 TBSP butter

2 (10 oz) bags of frozen chopped broccoli (cooked & drained)

salt & pepper to taste

2 cups cooked rice

Directions: Saute onions & celery in butter, add all remaining ingredients except rice. Simmer until thickened. Add rice then transfer to a casserole dish and BAKE at 350 for 30 minutes. ENJOY!!!
